Hello, I’m Tamara Casby — a contemporary fine artist. I work in representational, textured, and abstract styles using acrylics, watercolors, charcoal, and pastels. My nature-inspired paintings and drawings center on nature as artful conception. My artistic practice is my refuge. Synthesizing my observations, contemplations, and reverie into tangible form brings me joy, which I hope flows through the art.

My representational work translates animals, insects, landscapes, skyscapes, and botanicals through an expressive, painterly lens. My abstract paintings examine the human experience and the inner workings of the mind, honoring the reality that we too are part of the natural world. I also enjoy using texture in my work, allowing sculpted layers to infuse the piece with a sense of weight and dimensional experience. I currently live in New Orleans, LA with my husband, my daughter, and my beloved studio cat. I draw continual inspiration from the skies above me, the land below me, and the inner landscapes of my imagination.
